Furniture Designer – 1 open position in High Point, NC
Develop, design and specify furniture products (such as dressers, mirrors, cocktail tables, entertainment centers, dining room tables and chairs, buffets, home office work stations and bookshelves), during each product cycle launch using Computer Aided Design (CAD). Assist Product Development Team with sourcing new factories to produce the furniture products, reviewing/refining design and specs for prototypes, and assist marketing team with product description and specs. Collaborate with quality and merchandising teams, and work with senior management to discuss design changes to existing furniture product lines, new designs, etc. Manage and track all developments in the furniture product design process in collaboration with Product Development team from start to finish including: design inspiration, design aesthetic, references and sourcing specifications; comparable shopping and concept development; design feedback through sample process; and final product design. Create and maintain furniture product development plan and designer time requirements for resource planning (Design Unit Measurement). Assist in developing, maintaining and executing furniture product development timeline. Generate high quality 3D deliverables using CAD (Rhino® and V-ray®) for design team communication and customer presentation. Produce accurate CAD drawings and use advance sketching to produce ideation skills, both hand sketches and digital drawings. Research, explore and test new manufacturing methods and materials. Maintain a variety of CAD and 3D model libraries.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: U.S. or Foreign Equivalent Bachelor’s Degree in Furniture Design required.
